Prince Williams Helped With $60.8 Million Cocaine Bust
Prince Williams was not left standing on the sidelines during is month long training in the West Indies with the Royal Navy.
It is being reported that Prince William took part in a navy op that seized over $60.8 million worth of cocaine – all in his first week of training with the Royal Navy.
He manned a Lynx helicopter, from where he helped locate and monitor smugglers on a sinking speedboat off Barbados.
The freighter Iron Duke then swooped in for the bust.
Prince – Sub-Lieutenant Wales – also helped bring the haul on board alongside a US Coast Guard detachment.
Commander Mark Newland praised the royal for his part in the mission.
“This was a very challenging operation that unfolded over 3 days,” he tells the Daily Mail. “Sub-Lt Wales was an integral part of the team and, as an Army officer trained in surveillance, added real value to it.”
“This was a major operation - we don’t take people along for joy rides. Sub-Lt Wales has proved to be a very good sailor with no hint of sea-sickness yet.”
