Amy Winehouse Scheduled To Sing For Nelson Mandela
Despite recent reports of health problems, Amy Winehouse is still scheduled to sing at today’s star-studded birthday party in London for Nelson Mandela, Reuters reports.
Around 50,000 fans are expected to attend the concert honoring the statesman, who is celebrating his 90th birthday. Also tapped to perform are Annie Lennox, Queen and Simple Minds. Proceeds from the concert will benefit his 46664 charity. The show coincides with the 20th anniversary of London’s Free Mandela concert, which called for his release from prison.
Meanwhile, the concert is just a part of the week-long celebration. On Wednesday Will Smith, Oprah Winfrey and Leona Lewis were just a few of the A-listers to attend a dinner paying tribute to Mandela.
