Eli Mattson, who had traveled over 2000 miles riding by bus to be on the show, looks to be an early favorite on this year’s America’s Got Talent.
Stepping onto the stage wearing a hat and cool confidence, Eli won over audience members with his moving performance. Singing “Walking in Memphis” while playing the keyboard, Eli Mattson left audience members energized and judge Sharon Osbourne choked up.

Eli Mattson is an amazing artist that has been overlooked by America’s music industry. In a world where record producers are taking much less talented artist and giving them a make over here before them they have an opportunity to take a very gifted and natural born talent and present it to the world.
I hope the music industry is smart and gives this young man a real opportunity to show the world what he has to offer. I was an instant fan the minute he opened his mouth and would buy/download anything he sings.

I’m sorry, I have to voice my opinion somewhere, right? If Eddie Vedder and Elton John had a child……….It would be Eli Matson, I mean this by no means in a good way. Would you pay $100 in Vegas to see something so unoriginal, ya ya so there are a million and one unoriginal Elvis acts, but who in their right mind would shell out money to see Eli Matson? How can Pierce? Why would Pierce?
I’ll tell you why, cause he grew up in England listening to Elton his whole life, only reason he gives praise to Eli. It’s also the only reason he would buy Eli’s album, I assume Eli’s family and friends would also be among the small group of loyal fans that follow him into his deep dark decent of cover albums. “Well he must be good, he got this far” you say.
Fact of the matter is, Hes an awesome (I use the term semi-loosely) Pianist. Until I hear an original Album Produced by some big wig industry name, I have to ask myself, how in the world could he be in the top ten, and is this all America has to offer?

If he was on American Idol, he wouldn’t have made it past the first episode.
