Amy Winehouse Has Emphysema Father Reveals
After nearly a week of speculation about her health, Amy Winehouse’s father has released a statement saying that the singer has emphysema, not TB like previously reported.
“The doctors have said that if she had continued the way she was going she could have ended up an invalid - she wouldn’t have been able to breathe,” Mitch Winehouse told Britain’s Daily Mail. “With smoking the crack cocaine and the cigarettes her lungs are all gunked up. There are nodules around the chest and dark marks. She’s got 70 percent lung capacity.”
According to her father, Amy could be confined to a wheelchair within a month and have to wear a permanent oxygen mask if she doesn’t break her bad habits.
“The doctors have told her if she goes back to smoking drugs it won’t just ruin her voice, it will kill her,” Mitch said.
Wow, now this is some serious business right here. I sure hope Amy realizes that she is killing herself.
“I’ve started to see my old Amy back,” he said. “We’ll just have to see how great her resolution is.”
