Lil’ Wayne Close To 1 Million Record Sales In First Week
Where the heck did Lil’ Wayne come from???
Lil’ Wayne is expected to sell 900,000 copies this week, which will be the best sales debut of the year.
“Tha Carter III” has been pushed back several times and singles were leaked on internationally over the span of about a year, but that did not seem to harm the “best rapper alive” sales. His hit single “Lollipop” has dominated the Billboard Hot 100 Chart, staying at number 1 for five consecutive weeks. The song has reached success in Canada making it #10, in the UK it reached #26 on downloads alone, in New Zealand it reached #3, and on the United World Chart it reached #6.
“Lollipop” is Lil’ Wayne’s most commercially successful single of his career, as it is his first top 10 single, his first #1 on the Hot Rap Tracks, and his first #1 on the Billboard charts.
Lil’ Wayne’s previous albums, “Tha Carter” and “Tha Carter II” sold approximately 1.1 million and 1.4 million TOTAL copies.
