Patrick Swayze’s New Show, “The Beast”, Gets The Go Ahead

Patrick Swayze received the green light and will go to work this summer on a new series for A&E called “The Beast.” The future of the series was uncertain after Swayze was diagnosed with pancreatic cancer.
Swayze, 55, will play veteran FBI agent Charles Barker, who is assigned a new partner who was recruited as a double agent to investigate his activities.
“We’re very excited to begin series production on ‘The Beast’ and even more thrilled to have Patrick on board,” Bob DiBitetto, executive VP and general manager of A&E Network, said in a statement.
The series is scheduled to premiere early next year.
