Singer Russell Watson Fears Brain Tumor May Kill Him

Opera singer Russell Watson has expressed that he fears the brain tumor he thought would kill him will return for a third time.

The singer told the ITV1 show Tonight that his tragic illness has changed his life forever.

He said: “I know that I’ll never be able to just get on with my life again. It’s always going to be there… there’s always going to be that fear.”

Watson went on saying: “I think for the children it’s been a difficult year. They’ve had to see me in a condition that I don’t think that that’s something that any parent would want their child to see or experience.”

He added: “They’re very protective over me, they don’t want anyone coming near me.” Watson also revealed that the “inbuilt fear” he lives with made him think he had gone blind when it went dark while he was brushing his hair in front of the mirror.

Watson received radiotherapy treatment at The Christie Hospital in Manchester to kill the parts of the tumor the surgeon was unable to remove.

Lets hope the radiotherapy was enough to keep this amazing opera singer around for many years to come.
