Temeka Rachelle Lewis Pleas in Case that toppled Eliot Spitzer

Temeka Rachelle Lewis, the woman accused of being the organizer of the prostitution ring supported by Eliot Spitzer, pleaded guilty on Wednesday morning to charges related to her role in the ring.

Temeka Rachelle Lewis pleaded guilty to charges of promoting prostitution and money laundering, becoming the first of the four defendants charged in the case.

Lewis could face a prison sentence of up to 25 years and has agreed to testify if need be.

“Her agreement obligates her to testify, if asked,” Lewis’ lawyer Mr. Agnifilo said. “At this point we stand ready to receive direction from the government.”

Ms. Lewis did most of the booking for the ring, according to prosecutors, and a half-dozen of her conversations with Mr. Spitzer about arranging a Feb. 13 liaison with a prostitute in Washington were secretly recorded by the F.B.I. and were described in court papers.
