Vanity Fair Photog Chimes in on Miley Cyrus Photo Shoot
The Vanity Fair photographer that shot the photos of Miley Cyrus has finally responded to the harsh criticism she is receiving:
“I’m sorry that my portrait of Miley has been misinterpreted,” says Vanity Fair lenswoman Annie Leibovitz.
“Miley and I looked at fashion photographs together and we discussed the picture in that context before we shot it. The photograph is a simple, classic portrait, shot with very little makeup, and I think it is very beautiful.” While both of Miley’s parents, including dad Billy Ray Cyrus, were at the photo shoot, they left before the controversial picture was taken. However, Miley’s grandmother and teacher were present, which Vanity Fair was quick to point out.
“Miley’s parents and/or minders were on the set all day,” said a magazine spokeswoman.
“Since the photo was taken digitally, they saw it on the shoot and everyone thought it was a beautiful and natural portrait of Miley.”
