you’d see that the Household ratings have increased (if you say it’s 1.9)/maintained (if you say it’s 1.8) from the last few episodes. Viewership has also been rising. So 1.9/3 doesn’t really suck considering that it’s the 4th best rating the show has gotten. I’d say the ratings are pretty good for a new show launched on The CW.
As for the campaign, it did succeed (though perhaps, not as much as they wanted it to if they were ambitious) since ratings increased despite the network shifting the show to a new timeslot after its 3 month hiatus and also securing the best ratings for the Monday 8/7c timeslot.
Please do your homework before posting such sweeping statements. The ratings of Gossip Girl did not plummet. If you look here:
