Audiences Gamble on ‘21′

Sony’s gambling drama ‘21‘ trumped George Clooney’s screwball comedy opener Leatherheads for the top spot at the Friday box office, cashing in $5.2 million from 2,653 theaters.
The eight-day total for the gambling thriller based off a true story currently stands at $36.6 million.
Other box office hits from this past weekend included:
-Leatherheads in 2nd with $4.5 million from 2,769 fields
-”Nim’s Island” landed third with a ho-hum $3.8 million off 3,513
-”The Ruins” burrowed in fourth place with $2.8 million from 2,812 theatres
-”Dr. Seuss’ Horton Hears a Who!” hung around in fifth with $2.5 million off 3,571 offices
